Additional Therapies

ultrasound

Ultrasound is a therapy that is utilized in our office to handle injuries related to joints, muscle spasms, as well as most soft tissues. While it shares the same name, this ultrasound is not the same as the type of ultrasound utilized diagnostically to screen internally in the body. This ultrasound creates small sound waves that in effect vibrate and massage soft tissues and muscle. These sound waves do an excellent job in facilitating the body's healing process in addition to decreasing scar tissue formation.

Certain ultrasounds also create a heating effect to help relax the muscles or tightness in the body. This heat combined with the overall features of the ultrasound help to start the healing process at the most basic cellular level speeding up your road to recovery.

IntersegMental Traction Table

Intersegmental Traction gently mobilizes the spine while stretching all the muscles and ligaments. The rollers travel up and down the spinal column, lifting and separating the vertebrae to encourage muscle relaxation and minimize spasms, while helping to release the areas in the spine that may have caused nerve root compression.

cupping

Cupping therapy is a gentle technique that uses specialized suction cups to lift and decompress the soft tissues of the body. This approach may help reduce muscle tension, improve mobility, and support the body’s natural recovery process. Many patients find cupping especially helpful for areas of tightness, soreness, and built-up tension, helping them to feel looser and better able to move with ease,

gua sha

Gua sha therapy is a gentle soft tissue technique that uses a smooth instrument to glide over the skin in controlled strokes to target areas of tension and restriction. This approach may help release tight muscles, support circulation, and improve mobility in overworked or uncomfortable areas, resulting in relief of built-up tension and a greater sense of ease in the body.
